Las Vegas is the resort-fee capital of the United States: $50 to $55 a night at the big Strip names against a national average of about $33, and Nevada taxes the fee like rent. So the headline number on every page here is all-in. Here is the arithmetic on an average spring room, in public.
In Las Vegas the $190 room is a $278 night. The resort fee and its tax are the difference.

Before parking. Drive in and self-parking at the big Strip garages adds $20 a weekday night, $25 on weekends. A handful of garages are free; the no-fee register flags them.
02The Las Vegas ledger
- How much a hotel really costs The month-by-month all-in ledger, assembled from LVCVA room rates, the $55 fee, and the 13.38% tax: from about $238 in the July trough to $302 in record May.
- Hotels with no resort fee The verified register: ten properties at $0, each with a date and source count, plus the honest inverse, what the big names charge instead.
- Where to stay, priced Six real areas with numbers and plain verdicts. Downtown averaged $94.88 in April while the Strip ran $205.60; that gap is the whole argument.
- From the airport Harry Reid sits at the south end of the Strip. A taxi runs $23 to $28 in about ten minutes; the city bus is $2 to $6 in about an hour. Cheapest and fastest are different answers.

The top Strip resort fee once tax lands on it: $55 billed as rent, taxed as rent at 13.38%, every night, on top of the room. The national average resort fee is about $33. That gap is why every Levelfare number on these pages is all-in.
03How these numbers are made
Room rates are LVCVA survey figures, the Las Vegas convention authority's own series covering more than 75% of local hotel inventory, taken from its monthly executive summaries and from dated reports citing them. Resort fees and parking are list-price snapshots from published property-fee trackers, cross-checked across at least two sources where possible and dated per property. They are compiled public data, not live quotes for your dates.

What is the resort fee in Las Vegas?
$50 to $55 a night at the major Strip resorts, $45 at mid-tier Strip properties, and $34 to $46 at most of Downtown, before tax. Nevada taxes mandatory resort fees like rent, so the top $55 fee is really $62.36 a night once the 13.38% lodging tax lands. Ten verified Las Vegas hotels charge no resort fee.
Can you avoid resort fees in Las Vegas?
Yes, two ways. Book one of the ten verified no-resort-fee properties, or hold top loyalty status: Caesars Diamond and above, MGM Rewards Pearl and above, and the top Wynn, Hilton, and Hyatt tiers can waive fees at participating hotels.
